Ethnomusicological Perspectives for Performing Arts BA & MA degrees

Today's BA and MA degree students are majorly learning music performance and analysis, a few courses also offering ideas from copyrights and commercial music making. What can help groom the young minds to actually make a difference is the exposure to Ethnomusicology. I look forward to partnering with your University department of Performing Arts to bring this course to life.

Modern Tabla Lessons

Often young children learn the Tabla because parents think that they need to know some instrument or culture. Well, in my experience of 15+ years as a Tabla professional, I think there is a lot more to it. Tabla taught from an Ethnomusicological perspective helps one in building an innovative mindset. In my course, one can get exposure to global cultures, global drums ancestors of Tabla, Tabla making (science), Maths through Tabla, and ofcourse performance. Performance entails learning about one's body language, expressions, a bit of humour, facing the crowd, and healthy competition.
